Experience Behind Every Search
PlanetPatent.com was founded by Glen Kotapish, an Intellectual Property Research Specialist with more than two decades of experience in patent research, analysis, and consulting. He has supported inventors, patent attorneys, businesses, and other clients across industries including energy, aerospace, software, consumer products, and medical technologies.
His work has included novelty/patentability, freedom-to-operate/clearance, infringement, validity/invalidity, landscape, collection, and state-of-the-art research. Each search is tailored to the client’s technology, objectives, and stage of development.
Earlier in his career, Glen worked in aerospace engineering, contributing to satellite structures and cooling systems for NASA projects such as the Hubble Space Telescope. He holds a B.S. in Aerospace Science from LeTourneau University and has pursued advanced training in aviation management, SolidWorks, digital fabrication, and patent law.
Glen has served as president of the Inventors Network of the Capital Area, as a board member of the United Inventors Association, and as a volunteer with the Patent Information Users Group. His writing has also been published in Inventors Digest magazine.
Beyond patent research, Glen has been active in the maker community as a marketing and technical consultant to Fab Lab Baltimore. His interests in engineering, product development, 3D printing, digital fabrication, aviation, and emerging technologies provide a practical technical perspective that complements more than two decades of professional patent research experience
