PlanetPatent.com was founded by Glen Kotapish, an Intellectual Property Research Specialist with more than two decades of experience in patent research, analysis, and consulting. He has supported clients across industries including energy, aerospace, software, consumer products, and medical technologies, delivering landscape, novelty, infringement, and invalidity studies that help guide innovation and business strategy.

Earlier in his career, Glen worked in aerospace engineering, contributing to satellite structures and cooling systems for NASA projects such as the Hubble Space Telescope. He holds a B.S. in Aerospace Science from LeTourneau University and has pursued advanced training in aviation management, SolidWorks, digital fabrication, and patent law.

He has served as president of the Inventors Network of the Capital Area, as a board member of the United Inventors Association, and as a volunteer with the Patent Information Users Group. His writing has been published in Inventors Digest magazine.

Beyond patent research, Glen has been active in the maker movement as a marketing and technical consultant to Fab Lab Baltimore. His professional and personal interests include global IP issues, 3D printing, affordable prosthetics, product development, home-built aircraft, and fostering innovation through collaboration.
